bad algorithms

After a while I started to realize the limitations machine learning had on the human race. Not just because the people creating these algorithms had biases and thought they were correct in their thinking, but because an equation only works based on its own variables, placed there by none other than humans -and their limitation of their own knowledge. I think everything that has ever led me away from something has been the fact that I had hit a wall, whether physically or mentally, or creatively. Growth had stopped, but I was still breathing.

As a child growing up in rural California, city people thought we grew up without the resources to figure out this thing called life. But urban city life never taught me anything new - it just reaffirmed everything I had already learned. back home. The simplicities of life are right in front of our faces, and we run to and fro looking for them in all the wrong places to rest assured we’ve met the social norm.

I feel like algorithms today are exactly this. Particularly the IG algorithms and the people on the internet feeding them. That’s why “influencers” self (and covid) made only ever see what they want to see. How does anyone online ever expect to learn anything new, now that they’ve completely stopped living in the real world?
